Passionate About Empowering Students
My name is Alex Baumberger and I was married in August of 2017 to my best friend, Marcus. After our wedding, I began my first year as a School Counselor. 2017 was definitely the year of transitions and changes! I've got two younger brothers, Derrick and Austin, who are more like friends than brothers and my parents, Lance and Kim, are wonderful examples of unconditional love and support. I am also a Christian and am thankful for the foundation my faith provides.
Marcus and I currently live in Colman, SD and are loving it! We love to try new recipes and restaurants, catch up on our favorite TV shows, and go on road-trips to visit friends and family. In my spare time, I love to be outdoors. You can catch me riding my bicycle, laying by the water with a good book, or heading to a yoga class.

It has always been my dream to work with kids, which is why I am so fortunate to work as a School Counselor. I am passionate about empowering students to be the best versions of themselves. Each student has their story and their own future and I feel honored to have the opportunity to work here at Explorer where I get to watch that unfold. I am here to assist in whatever ways I can, whether that be with social/emotional issues, academic issues, etc. The mission of the Explorer Elementary's Counseling Program is to maximize every student’s social, educational and career development potential in order to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners.
